Bones of Fallen Stars

STELLAR BONE began with a stoop — a hand closing around a dark, strangely heavy stone on the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau. Locals have a name for such stones: Thokcha, sky iron, fallen from the stars. We build our atelier on that moment.

I. At 4,500 Metres, the Sky Is Close

On the Third Pole, the air is thin enough that night skies feel within reach. For millennia, herders here picked up dark irons from the grasslands and kept them as talismans — sky iron, older than any kingdom. Walking the plateau, you learn to look down as well as up: the ground occasionally returns what the heavens drop.

STELLAR BONE exists because one of those returns found us. Star bone — the name was never a marketing decision. It was simply what the stone was.

II. Sky Iron, Older Than Any Crown

Long before smelting, cultures on the plateau worked meteoritic iron into beads and amulets. In Tibetan tradition, Thokcha — sky iron — has been worn for close protection and blessing for over a thousand years. We retell that heritage with care: culture, not promises. What we add is modern craft — stabilizing treatment, hand finishing, and macro photography that lets each piece speak for itself.

High altitude did the preservation work: cold, dry, thin air kept these irons remarkably clean since they fell. Our job is not to improve them. It is not to lose them.

III. Three Things We Insist On

Only the Third Pole's gifts. Every specimen is sourced on the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau, through lawful, documented channels — and we say so on every listing.

One of one, photographed as sold. No stock photos of lookalikes. The macro images are the piece; its pattern ID lives in our archive.

Honesty over poetry. We write down what we know and admit what we don't. Thirty days to verify us anywhere — if we're wrong, you're refunded.
